Dear Carolk, It is very important to apply for restoration within your 90 days after your work permit expiry date. I think you can apply for restoration even you don't receive your positive LMO on that time. Call CIC and ask them. I hope to get LMO before April 8th :)

No, 3 days after submission my employer called the officer in SC and he told that approved two days ago (means one they after he received documents) and he mentioned that SC mailed the approval (ordinary mail).

They called and ask some documents.

Good news. In my case when they received the information(documents), on the next day they approved LMO.

Congratulations for LMO :) No need to pay the lawyer you can do by yourself. You can apply for restoration even online. Just you need to pay $200 for each person who need restoration and $150 extra for who needs work permit also. For example if you are a family of 3 and all need restoration...

They received my application on Nov 10 and approved on Feb 13, so probably now they are working on the application received Nov 15.

I think if someone applied for restoration within the 90 days of expiry date, can stay till CIC make decision. Maybe their making decision takes longer than 90 days. In this case applicant can stay in Canada but doesn't allow to work.

Maybe date of notification is the date that they are mentioned on the work permit (which is expiry date). If CIC means after refusal they supposed to write: 90 days after application denied.

I don't Think so. Take a look on this: Restoration - Worker If you stay in Canada after the expiry date of your Work Permit, you lose your legal status in the country. You must leave Canada right away. If not, you could be removed from Canada and will need authorization from an immigration...
