Police certificate Mexico - Constancia de Antecedentes Registrales

Hi guys,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience in this stressful process...I am applying for the Police Certificate from Canada. I am following up on the status of my application via MXICO-IM-RAU@international.gc.ca. They typically respond within 3-4 days. My documents were provided to Mexican Authorities on June 2, 2017. The deadline for providing the police certificate to CIC is July 2, 2017. I am planning to ask for the extension of my deadline.

Some of you were saying that it’s better to ask Embassy of Canada in Mexico processing the request to ask Ottawa for extension instead of contacting Ottawa directly? Can anyone share their experience? Also, would you recommend to wait till July 2 to request extension or should I request it a week before the deadline?

My other question is related to my personal profile. There is a box where I suppose to upload "Replacement of the Police Certificate". Since I will never receive the certificate myself, do you know what am I supposed to upload there? I provided police certificates from other countries. Does it mean I have to re-upload them too?

I do not know if the embassy can ask for the extension directly, or maybe I misunderstood a post from someone else. I also have a july 2nd deadline (documents sent to the mexican authorities on may 19th), and I requested my extension this friday using the online form. In the form, I clearly stated that the embassy can take several weeks to obtain the PCC, so I hope they will take that into account when deciding how long to extend the deadline. Maybe this week I'll get some news...

I am a Quebec applicant, so I am not sure about how to work the online submission system (we are not express entry). Maybe someone else can help you with that.

Has anybody received only 7 days extension to submit your police certificate? I got a 7 days extension today which seems a joke considering the time it takes to get a PC from Mexico.

Any suggestions on what should I do, I have sent web forms, emails and I mailed a letter to Ottawa but all I got was just 7 more days. This is really stressful!

I would ask for another extension near the end...hopefully you will get good news before that happens... or try calling IRCC directly! maybe talking to an agent can help.

Les explicare el proceso. Y mi experiencia.

Conmigo se tardaron 6 meses para obtener la constancia de no antecedentes penales esto fue desde enero a julio 2015, cada caso es distinto. los envié a la embajada una vez me los pidió Ottawa. Y ellos así vez los enviaron a Ottawa.

A finales de julio recibí passport request lo envié a el siguente dia y de que les llego a que me Los regresaron se tardo 10 días, 2 días después salí a Estados Unidos y regrese y en el puerto de entrada explique mi situación y muy amablemente me sellaron el pasaporte y firmaron la confirmación de residencia.

El proceso se ha terminado solo falta esperar la tarjeta que llegara en 80 días,
Por lo pronto ya renové el SIN y aplique para la health card aqui en Ontario.

I just received the AOR but doesn't request my PCC from Mexico and I lived there enough time for them to request it to me. Should I wait them to request it or should I send my fingerprints and photos now? ( where do I found where is my processing centre ? I am applying from Ontario - Canada) . Thanks

Hello Amanda,

You will receive a letter requesting the PCC, you should wait until you get it. It takes around two months after you submit your documents. However, each case is different so it could be different for you. In regards to your processing centre, applications from within Canada are processed in Ottawa.

You will receive a letter requesting the PCC, you should wait until you get it. It takes around two months after you submit your documents. Ya se me venció la fecha. Pedí extensión en ottawa y ya le mande correo a la embajada. Nadie me ha contestado. Ojalá tengamos noticias pronto! Pero creo que me va peor todavía, estoy en montreal, al ircc le valen las aplicaciones dd quebec... no son prioritarias...

Hi,

I would not send the documents until they ask for the pcc... maybe it works, but maybe there could be issues with the validity of the document (it is only valid for a certain time), or maybe the embassy will see you have not been requested the pcc yet and might not process the application with the mexican authorities.

I would wait a little longer, if you are an EE candidate it should not be long before they ask you for it, but it's up to you, i have not met anyone who has send the documents before being requested the pcc.

Here is my timeline:
Program: QSW
PCC request: may 2nd
Documents and fingerprints arrival at embassy: may 4th
Documents sent from the embassy to PGR: may 19th
Results sent to IRCC: july 7th

total time from recpetion of documents at embassy until PCC sent to IRCC: 63 days

For anyone who's trying to get the Mexican PCC and who lives in Mexico.

1 - E-mail MXICO-IM-RAU@international.gc.ca once you receive a request from IRCC and ask them for a letter addressed to the PGR.
2 - Book an appointment with PGR once you have this letter - the visa office sent me the letter within couple hours.
3 - Bring all the documents stated in the PGR website (passport, birth certificate, photos, etc). They will take the fingerprints there.
4 - You'll get a receipt which says that you'll get the PCC within 10 business days but I got mine in 4.
