Canadian citizenship residency obligation question

Hello,

So my wife is a Canadian Citizen. We married in Brazil in 2017. I became a PR in 2022. I’m wondering as I just realized that days outside Canada with your Canadian citizen partner can be counted as days in Canada depending on the circumstance.

My question is this… Can the days BEFORE I became a PR in 2022 (we were married since 2017) be counted towards my days in Canada if we were living in Brazil?

No and for citizenship purposes- must be physically present in Canada to count for days - you are thinking that days count with the spouse is for PR card renewal down the track pre citizenship applications

Days spend with your Canadian partner outside of Canada cannot be counted towards citizenship. You are confusing the residency obligation rules for PR and citizenship.

Second question is therefore not relevant.
