You have to be very specific, they start by saying background check in progress and then you should follow up by asking status of info sharing, criminality etc. I think they are trained to use simple terms to not confuse the applicant by using the exact terminology. For GCMS notes, it took 27...

As I understand outlanders can use the Privacy Act. I always use Privacy Act to get GCMS even though I am inland, cuz it is free lol But to answer your original question, GCMS notes can be ordered via either Privacy Act or Access to Information
