Question regarding 14 a). Please help.

Visitor Visas are not the travel documents IRCC is referring to in 14a. Travel documents are passports or passport-like documents that authorize you to travel across borders. Visas are not travel documents. Here' some information regarding travel documents...

You can put each separate application and its documents inside a plain labeled envelope and them all the envelopes inside the mailing envelope.

For Q13, only visas that confer the right to live in a country need to be listed; visitor visas do not confer that right (that is, any immigration document that would allow you to legally stay in a country, including work permits, student visas, spouse visas, etc). As well, citizenships (current...

    Eligibility period - new forms

This has been discussed on the forums before. The residence outside of Canada form is only for those who can claim physical presence credit while living outside Canada. This is an error on the part of IRCC, which badly designed the forms and instructions. My guess is that since applying for...

C-6 Citizenship Applications, Frequently Asked Questions

Holding a visa is not the same as holding an immigration status. IRCC is concerned about statuses that confer the right to live in another country. A B1/B2 visa does not confer that right, but a L1 does (as does an H1B). So, you would have to mention the L1 only.

    Eligibility period - new forms

The eligibility period is a fixed 5-year "continuous" period, regardless of when she became a PR. The eligibility period may start before she became a PR. It starts 5 years before the date you plan to apply for citizenship. You must provide information on the entire eligibility period, no gaps...

Some people actually hold US PR and Canadian PR at the same time due to lax Canadian residency requirements. Though that does not seem to be a reason for denial, it may be used for other future purposes. Collecting more thorough information from to-be-Canadians may help create a case for new...

Yes, that is new, and it seems it's an open period, meaning that they want to know if you ever had an immigration status anywhere else since birth.

It seems you are opening the form by clicking on the link. You cannot open the form from the browser by clicking on the link; you must download the form first and then open it. You can download the form by right-clicking on the link and selecting "save link as..." so you can save it on your...

If you are overwriting the old form upon download of the new form, make sure you close the old form before downloading and opening the new one. For some reason adobe (if that's what you are using to open the forms) maintains the old properties.

True. The "eligibility period" has been defined differently from previous rules and I think that's where the problem is. Had they kept it "from the moment you became a PR or" to a maximum of a fixed period, we would not have these issues. Extending the eligibility period makes only sense for...

No, vacations are not considered residency outside Canada, but because the eligibility period is fixed to 5 years it appears that anyone who has not lived in Canada for 5 years or more without an extended period of residency outside Canada will have to fill out that form, including any period...

Not quite. "Fill in" a form means to replace the blank spaces with information, while fill out is to complete it.

Eligibility period is 5 yrs; however, for the police clearances is only 4 yrs - not like that helps. Both used to be since you were a PR. It seems like some form of revenge, as if the writer of the requirements was a conservative. lol. Not to mention a form that doesn't work.

You fill "out" forms, you fill "up" a car gas tank, just saying, a little help with your ESL.
