Yes, look at the tracker linked above for an idea of the process, of course this only includes forum members so not a true overview but a quick insight nonetheless. Many applicants from Jan-April still have not heard anything (including me, April 09 delivery) and IRCC have moved onto May. Unfortunately this is how they work, it doesn't make any sense but I guess they have an obligation to process a % of each month then they have to move onto the next.

ya you may be right. They have some sort of target to finish some applications or to show progress in moving closer to normal gap of 2-3 months prepandemic lag. Or else they need to move to May when many Mar-Apr & some Jan-Feb are still waiting for AOR.

While looking at the gap of Jan to May, I dont think that it is random allocation that some officer attend without date/month sequence. It may be intentional to move fast to Jun-Jul to show that they progress as same as prepandamic.

I am, application delivered on Apr 1, no news since then. I'm worried that they'd return my application

Someone whose application got delivered on June 1st got AOR today. I think its like a random lottery thing on how CIC picks application to be entered into the system!!

I called CIC (IRCC) this morning and spoke to an agent for about 10 minutes. He looked into my file and into their current processes and stated that IRCC is currently working on citizenship applications received in JANUARY 2020. He also mentioned that it is possible that some applications received in subsequent months (February, March, April, May,...) have been initiated because they could be "Urgent" or "Expedited" applications.

He also mention that I should expect 2-3 months delay from now on; therefore, instead of 12 months to finalize everything it should be 14-15 months.

Definitely they do not know what they are talking about. How did they come up with 14-15 months of processing time when the test is not happening.
We cannot estimate the processing time if the test is not resumed, receiving AOR is not enough to estimate the processing time. calling them is just a waste of time and energy and we also know that all Feb, March, April and May applicants who received AORs are not just urgent. They really run out of the explanation now.
