Question for people who got to knew that their file moved to a visa office, how i get notified? Ecas? Or ecgcey? Or mail to sponsor or mail to principal applicant.
I just need to know how u get info from so o can track or assume what stage i am in?
We did biometrics and medical and both passed.
Lastly, its shows om gckey : we are processing ur background check. Doest that msg meaning they did start already or they r will to start processing one day?
Can nt wait to see my wife with me
And trying to better understand their procedures and where state r we now.

We just received an AOR2 from Singapore VO. The letter states Apr 23, 2019, however it states that the application was received Apr 8, 2019. For the spreadsheet, which date should be used for the AOR2 column?
My assumption here is that the application was in fact received Apr 8, but they are only starting to look at it now, hence the letter.

Some VOs don't send anything, which is why we're forced to use the "we started processing" date instead. If you got an actual AOR2 email from your VO then I would use that date (Apr 23).

In the tracker I observed there is a column "we started processing" for background check. However my ecas status shows "we are processing your background check and we will send you a message if we need further information" since the day I linked my account (even before SA) . I haven't gotten any email regarding the file transfer to VO. So does this mean my background check is laready happening or? will it change to not applicable and then to checking again?

In the past, the background check never started processing until the very end. More recently, for some people it says it's processing from the very beginning (as in your case, as well as mine), but not for others. It's a mystery why that is, but all we can do is presume that for some of us they are in fact starting the background check earlier.

I am starting to think may be its my previous application for a Visitors Visa (they completed background check and of course they refused based on the reason the spouse is in Canada). If any previous application is made before the spousal sponsorship may be they will start with the background check already under process. Just a thought
Possibly that's part of it in your case, but I wouldn't say that's true for most people who have this status. In fact, it seems to happen most commonly with people who are actually visa-exempt (like in my husband's case). I'm guessing it has something to do with how accessible the information is from Canada (e.g. do the other countries share intelligence information with Canada, is it easy to identify the PA or are there other people with the same name & birth date, etc). Perhaps if they've accessed this information before, like you say, it also contributes. Either way, we can only take it as a good sign!Thank you for the reply. Could that be reason? i think it's a case with us well! my wife applied for study visa and was approved for it but she never visited Canada cuz we got married and she didn't need to come to Canada for study anymore and we are still waiting for transfer; our file was received on Feb 14th, 2019
