Well, at least that means everybody waiting to see if they get a NOI can kick back and relax over the month of December, without watching the OINP site.

@Lunaa please read this reconsideration process carefully: taken from Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP): Frequently Asked Questions

Reconsideration Requests
1) What can I do if my application is denied?

The OINP gives applicants an opportunity to seek a review of the refusal decision of their application. This process is called Reconsideration. The OINP’s reconsideration process is in place to provide applicants recourse to the refusal of their application should they feel an error was made by the program in its assessment. To request reconsideration, you must send a request by email to reconsiderations@ontario.ca within 30 calendar days of the date on the refusal letter. You must clearly identify what error(s) you believe was/were made in the assessment of your application. The error(s) you identify must be related to the stated reason(s) for the refusal of your application. If the deadline to submit the request falls on a weekend or a statutory holiday, the deadline to submit the request will be extended to the next working day. Reconsideration requests are reviewed by an official who was not involved in the original decision and who is independent of the original decision-maker. The reconsideration decision is final. Please note that a reconsideration request will consider eligibility at the time of the original application. A decision will not be reconsidered on the basis of a change in circumstances after the application was submitted and will not take into consideration new information or documentation that was not submitted to the program during initial application assessment. In these instances, you should submit a new application to the program. You will be required to pay the application fee for the new application.
Note: Written requests for reconsideration are no longer accepted by mail, fax or in person. All requests for reconsideration must be sent by email.

This will surely help you.
Hello @Lunaa kindly let me know if your abovementioned issue is resolved already. All the best!

Hello, everyone! I'm quite upset as I was bound to send my docs under the French-speaking stream, and OINP announced it has reached its 2017 intake. Is there a possibility they re-start sending NOIs by the end of the year (though the submissions remains closed)?

Two situations here:

1. If you have received a NOI, you can still submit your application, as long as the NOI is still valid - you have 45 days from the NOI to submit a French speaking stream application.

2. You don't have a NOI yet. Don't worry, you still can create the EE profile, receive the NOI if you comply to the stream's requirements, and then apply no later than December 31.

I say that because the French speaking stream is still open. Either way, you'll only receive the nomination next year even if your application is approved this year, since OINP's 2017 nomination quotas are gone.

Good luck!

Thank you, João. But even the French speaking stream is closed now, according to their announcement yesterday. I didn't even have the time to create my EE profile, which I will do as soon ad I get my TEF certificate number within one week. The point is...it seems OINP is not sending NOIs anymore in 2017. Nobody can predict when they'll re-start sending them, I think.

They announced their nomination allocations are met, not that they have closed their intake for streams that are still open. If you try to apply for your stream, it'll be still open, provided you have a valid NOI or receive one from OINP. However, if your application is approved, te nomination will only happen in 2018. The stream they have halted issuing NOIs was the human capital priorities stream.

They haven't announced anything regarding lockdown for the French speaking stream. Don't mistake nomination allocation for registration intake. French speaking registration is still open.

You can wait for early 2018, after all. They'll probably resume nominations and full streams registrations around late January or early February next year, if they repeat this year's trend.

Indeed, it makes sense, João! Immigration marketing officers have just finished a tour in Paris, Nice, Strasbourg and Brussels to attract brand new French-speaking candidates, so why should they close this valuable stream? Hopefully I may get a NOI as soon as I activate my EE profile. Thank you! You offered me a beautiful ray of hope! Ho ho ho! :)

Worry about locking a B2 or better for your TEF to reach NCLC 7, as well as a good IELTS (french-speaking requires english CLB 6+ as well). However, I feel you could also reach CLB 9 or better of IELTS, which means that depending on your other skills (education, work experience) and age, if you do reach both levels for English and French (or the opposite, NCLC 9 and CLB 7), you could very likely get a CRS score over 450 due to the new bilingual 30 point bonus. This would mean a score good enough to try a direct ITA and avoid the hassle of paying $1500 and having to wait for a provincial nomination before applying to the Canadian federal system.

You can simulate your outcome here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Bonne chance!

Hello Folks,

ONIP never fails to shudder me. I submitted my ONIP application on Nov 4 and still the status hasn't changed from Submitted. anyone on the same page?

I work in Canada with my work permit expiring on Feb 2 2018. I was hoping if I had my PNP approved by then I will be able to apply for extension of my work permit ,but I'm not sure how much that would be feasible considering the fact that ONIP has stopped nominating for 2017.

If I get my ONIP post January, it wouldn't be of any use in my case as my score is going to shoot up to 500+ in Feb 2018 when I complete my 1 year of work in Canada.

I can't do anything other than hoping and staying positive that I will get my ONIP beginning of January'18.
