I did my medicals July 13 last month
As long as they have them, and their approved, then just the security screening is left.

Hey guys just got this email.
What should I expect in this interview.

Dearxxxx

We are pleased to advise you that your final determination for permanent residence interview has been scheduled for:

Failure to appear for this interview may be perceived as a lack of interest in permanent residence and your application could be refused.

If you cannot attend this interview, please e-mail us at: WST-Landing-Enquiries@cic.gc.ca or call the IRCC Call Centre at 1-888-242-2100

Please note:

  •  Do not arrive until 15 minutes prior to your interview time.
  •  If you were sponsored, please ensure that your sponsor attends the interview with you, and brings government issued ID documents with photos establishing their identity.
  •  If you believe that you will require the services of an interpreter, you are responsible for hiring/finding an interpreter and ensuring that they attend the interview with you.
  •  If you are subject to and have not yet paid the Right of Permanent Residence Fee in the amount of $490.00 per adult who is subject to permanent residency, you must do so prior to your interview.
    http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/
It's like getting a driver's license. They take your passport, print out a COPR, ask you 3 simple questions (have you been convicted of a crime in Canada or anywhere, dependents in Canada or anywhere that are not included, and have you ever been denied entry to Canada or anywhere; are the most common). Then you double check the details on the COPR are correct. You and the officer sign. Then you take your selfies and head out to party

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your support during our form filling process. We are finally ready to send out our application, have few more questions

- Just wondering how much is spouse open work permit?

Checklist for OWP has a section that said if you are a student. My husband is an Intl student. Does that still applied to him even tho his applying under me?

We are legally married obtain marriage cert, I'm currently pregnant and we have all the documents to back up our relationship but we worried because my husband haven't been to school since January and also had to take up summer part time job. We wrote an apology letter regarding that. Just wondering if that's a good idea or we just just submit the application without the letter?

OWP is $255 -- $155 for the permit, and $100 for the OWP holder fee. No there isn't really a reason to fill out the student bit. It's a generic form.

You just need to prove you don't use or need social assistance. There is no low income cut off. So, no letter required.

Thanks for your quick response.

I meant the OWP checklist. There is a question which said If you are a student which needs to be checked and provide documents like transcript or letter from the school. We are applying OWP under spouse sponsorship wondering if we still need to check it and provide the document which indicates his here as a student. Kinda of confuse:(

I have enough income we don't need social assistance. We wrote the letter just to apologize for him breaking immigration law. As an Intl student his not allowed to be out of school and should not work if his not attending school which he did. We are just worried this factors might affect our application that's why we wrote the apology letter to include in the application

Ok. Sure, you can include it. Though, they probably already know.

I would bypass the student checklist stuff.

@profiler I just checked my cic account and read this
This refers to the Application for Permanent Residence you made under the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class. It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. Please note that a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you and all your family members have met these requirements. IMPORTANT: Passports for yourself and your family members must.

Can you please tell me what does it mean ?
Thanks
Congratulations and it means your Appŕoved

Wishing a "sugary" Tuesday for everyone left!
Likewise!

Though, when I look at the numbers, I can tell you that for 110% certain that they will meet their target. I was waiting for a confluence (so at some point Month-2016 would need to meet Month-2017). At this point, I can say that it looks like they have actually had that, and are now surging ahead. This indicates to me, that they will no doubt meet their promised targets: everyone who submitted before December 2016 will be processed; and 80% of cases from then on will be 12 months.

Keep in mind, they said that 80% of cases in 12 months. The other 20% might take a little longer ("more complex"). Those will be the ones requiring additional documents, interviews, or whatever else.

Back to the point -- we need to have Sugary day every day! ;)

Strong numbers! I can only hope so. Trying to keep my mind busy as possible.

I received my OWP after 10 months since I was out of status. I a still waiting for my sponsorship which they are doing background check.
Can I apply for OHIP and SIN with OWP?
You have to apply for a SIN to work. It will be a temporary SIN (when you land, and get your COPR, you take that in and get a permanent one).

OHIP you can't apply until you have a full time job -- or your AIP letter (AIP letter is better, as it doesn't require a job).
