Employment verification takes place during eligibility when they want to ensure that the documents you submitted are authentic. Verifications happen only for a very select group of people. It depends on your educational qualifications, the company you work for, the employment letters you have etc.

If someone is getting verification calls in IP2 then their eligibility is not cleared so the BCG hasn't started. This is why one needs to know of the stage you are at and no what the MyCIC status states as what stage it corresponds to is unknown. Try calling IRCC or order GCMS, the best bet.

Not with regard to employment verification, CRS, and ECA. Eligibility is the biggest hurdle, if you wear it, then you are 95% through, barring any extended security screening checks.

I was also told the same by my consultant. They will take your old passports only if it has any stamping done. But it's better to take the old passports with your for submission, the VFS officer will decide to take only current or all.

Oh ok. Out of the 4, 2 has a few stamps and one of them has a new zealand PR which I didn't take up when I was 11 or 12 years old. Hope that doesn't have any effect

I didnt... I was being hopeful for the usual friday rain... but no luck. So will call first thing Monday morning.

Just to confirm for everyone passing through/landing for the first time as a FSW in Montreal or anywhere in Quebec, if you can prove your onward travel to Ontario, landing will be completed there without any problem or they will do the half of the procedure, and the rest will be done when you come to your destination in another province! No issues. Only thing that would be concerning for an officer is that you land in somewhere in Quebec without a connecting flight and stay there, but even then if you have a good reason for this, it could be enough.

I can bet your file has been moved to a local VO. From the trend so far, once CIO is done with your file and ready to transfer to a local VO, the additional docs changes to not required.
I'll advice you send another email to CPC Ottawa to find out your local VO.

Could you please let me know if eligibility is passed by this stage??? and what are the timelines im looking at till ip2 and PPR???

I called CIC on Thursday.As I am in NA2 for almost 40 days. They told me my file is still in Central Intake Office and my security and Eligibility check is not done yet. Can someone tell me what are checked for Security and Eligibility checks? I just want to understand the process.

In my opinion, a case analyst has gone through your file and your eligiblity has been Met. At the local VO it would be reviewed by an officer, if the officer is okay with it your eligiblity would be passed and your BGC status would be updated to IP2 (not everyone's status is updated). How long would you have to wait to get to IP2? Well it all depends on your local VO.
This is just my opinion from the recent trend. You can order gcms notes just to be sure.
