The bus stop is the coldest place on the planet, especially when the bus is stuck at a red light two blocks away.

This is why I haven't taken the bus anywhere yet. I'm afraid I'll get the schedules wrong and end up stuck at a bus stop in -15 for a couple hours wondering why the bus isn't there.

If you have a smartphone, download your local transit app. Calgary Transit App has saved my life. Okay, not literally, but close.

I have so much to learn. I have never taken the bus in the US or Canada.

I've only taken the bus in Thunder Bay, Ontario (I'm not from there, I have friends without cars there haha)

It's exciting at first, and this is coming from a small town girl, but it wears off when older creepy guys are asking you questions and asking for a smoke and just being creepy....

Sheesh, I didn't want to say it but that's exactly what I'm afraid of when taking the bus. I never got familiar with the system. As an immigrant to the US, I came here without knowing any English and the easiest thing for me was to walk and later one...to drive without having to face people and their questions. Still, the other day when I traveled, I had to take the shuttle from the parking lot to the airport. When I came back home (US) I had to ask someone which parking lot was that one (pointing to it) south or north? :-X

Ha! My Grampa gets so excited about watching curling (he's 93) and the way he talks about the players you'd think they're his friends! It's hilarious.
