Your application is still pending mandatory background checks???

I applied for study permit UAE canadian embassy.

After 8weeks of application, i emailed them and they reply like this:

"Your application is still pending mandatory background checks. We will notify you once finalized"

I live in qatar, and bangladeshi national.

Any idea what they are doing actually by mandatory background check?

Dude, at least they replied with an answer. How long did it take them to respond?

I'm in my 7th week now. I'm getting scared and frustrated.

UAE processing times used to be 7 weeks before they updated it to 8 weeks. Can I ignore that I inquire after 7 weeks? ;D

i enquired after 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 8th weeks ...

and got reply every time that it's under process...

only today i got reply with specification that background check is going on...
