I can't believe this is news. If she's really a seasoned traveler then she should have know that boarding her flight without a passport wouldn't be possible.

Having said that, the airline really messed up by giving her such bad advice...

I don't think anybody has any doubts whether they can board a plane without any passport at all...
All those questions are about not having a canadian passport yet, while still having
a passport from a different country - just without the PR card after oath.

Yeah; and someone gave them the idea to enter via US without PP and using only citizenship certificate
