alex i understand your logical example but i do not think that the VO will care about logic! Check what wilson posted in Blue letters. This clearly leaves out elementary school and i NEED someone to tell me that he knows for SURE that we count elementary! We need the 3 extra points!!!

The maximum points that you could get for Education is 25 ONLY....you can not stretch it beyond that and you have already got the 25 points. Adding elementary education to get an EXTRA 3 POINTS at this point is REDUNDANT.

Mitali

the 3 point that he is referring to are from the spouse education.

please, PLEASE mitali... you ahve confused us greatly! read my post with our years and yo will see that without elementary we will get 22 points... ok now?

no no alex!

We get nothing from spouse (myself) education because I haven't completed my BA yet. I personally have:

6 years elementary
6 years high school
90 hours (divided into three 2-week methodology courses) <-- I am almost sure this won't even count, I am just posting it
2 years of university ( I get my BA in MAY 2012)

So I will probably get ZERO points.

BUT my wife (principal applicant) has the education I posted earlier.
If we do not count her elementary according to the table she will get 22 points
If we count it she will get 25 points..

If your Wife is PA and she has a minimum of 4 years university at bachelors level + 2 years Masters
she will get the 25 points :)

Sorry for the miss-understanding

To make it a little clearer...

The Guide's instructions:

Full-time studies: This includes both secondary and post secondary education of at least 15 hours of instruction per week during the academic year. This includes any period of workplace training that forms part of the course.

Example 1: If you have a Master‘s degree but have completed only 16 years of full-time study, award yourself 22 points.

So this makes me think that we will only get the 22 points ( we have 19 years WITH elementary school but only 15 years without it)

Am I wrong somewhere? (please say YES! :) )

If she has her Masters under the Bologna-system (3BA+2MA) then CIC will not give you 25 p only 22

I can not say Yes yet.
Everything depends on the education system in your country.

How many years did she study to get her BA?

I think you are confusing the system. It is not about the kind of BA, it is about the TOTAL studies years and it is essential if elementary school counts or not!

I am guessing that in Greece the system is the same as in Romania:
4 y - elementary
4 y- secondary
4 y - highschool
4 or 5 y- for BA
2 y- Masters
3 y - PhD

Yes it is about the system

IF the Masters is obtained under Bologna syst. then CIC will give you only 22 p even if you have 17 years of school in total.

And yes you count all the full time studies including the elementary school.

Not too sure why you are panicking when few seniors have already shared their views & it is exactly the answer you need.

Simple logic - how would you move on to the post secondary level without completing elementary school , the education points clearly say 'TOTAL' number of study years (excluding playschool) - just spelling it out to avoid a second Q.

Sanity

Thank you sanity but I am panicking because for us Canada is a chance to live better.

can you explain this then --> Full-time studies: This includes both secondary and post secondary education of at least 15 hours of instruction per week during the academic year. This includes any period of workplace training that forms part of the course.

The Bologna Sist. Masters in mechanical engineering for example is equal to the old sistem when we got our BA after 5 years of faculty studies.

If the Masters degree is obtained after the 5year old school faculty and is considered post graduate school then you will get 25 p (my case)

:)
