Got my AOR yesterday along with what looks like a lot of other people here. Seems everyone's been getting an XEP number and it's not yet clear exactly what this means. Are we on Express Entry or is it just a coincidence with the file number? Lots of speculation, but nobody has any evidence that I've seen.

I've also been unable to log on to ECAS yet (https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/ECAS.jsp) - does it normally take a little while after AOR to become active?

I am in the same situation - got email with XEP file number yesterday (BC PNP PR application reached CIC on Nov 28th 2014). When I try and use that file number to log in - it doesn't work and it says that the number is supposed to be one letter + nine numbers or letters, so ten in total. With the X in front, it is eleven letters and numbers in total... This is pretty weird.

usually, according to other people in the forum, you can access ECAS after 4,5days u received ur AOR....cic ususlly update ECAS on Tuesday...so I heard..

It says this so i thought by removing the letter X it will be working but didnt... very confusing...

Immigration File Number / Application Number

You will find this number, also referred to as an "Application Number", on any official document issued to you from the visa office where you submitted your application. Your Immigration File Number/Application Number starts with a letter and is followed by a combination of nine (9) numbers or letters. (Example: B000000000 or EP00000000).

hello... i hope this will help... last month i phoned cic to ask questions about me getting an BOWP... then they gave me my file no. with the XEP... i was so confused coz i know that aor.. or file no. should have only EP...coz thats what my friends are getting...then i phoned again to ask about that.. they told me that YES.. thats my file no.. it has X in front coz its still under inventory or cic files... but when they about to send an email..they will remove the X...and it means that ur application is on the system already...or is able to track in the ECAS...thats what they told me. i got AOR last monday (nov 12 applicant) but just EP in my aor.

and YES it will take 4-5 days to be able to access ECAs. mine just get through today. they usually update ECAs every tuesday.

Thanks! That's a great help! So it sounds like the hopes of being on express entry might be dashed. I should have known not to get excited too early!

Interesting that they have been sending out the XEP's on email though... maybe this email we've all been getting is sort of a "pre-AOR" and the actual one will come as soon as our accounts are active? Sorry, more speculation I know, but it's all we've got sometimes!!!

yes maybe.. thats what im thinking too.. its like ...theyre saying... yes we received your application... and after... yes were on it now... maybe its like that... but thats really great... and a big help for all of us.. coz we can probably use it to apply an BOWP...for those whose work permit is expiring soon.

Good job cic!!!

I still can't access ECAS... will try again on Tuesday when they supposedly update their systems.

Hey guys!

I received two separate emails for AOR and both of them start with XEP....

As I know, people first get the XEP and then EP. Why mine is both XEP?

Anyone shares the same experience?

If it is same mail. Nothing wrong in it. Wait for EP.
