Wrongfully awarded visa in the past and didn't correct at the time.

Hi all,

I used to have a work permit as an accompanying spouse. Then got get separated. Asked for another workvisa (other grounds), stating I was separated from my accompanying spouse, but got a work permit as an accompanying spouse again. I didn't think to much about it at the time, but now I want to apply for PR through spousal sponsorship (different partner). How can I correct these things from the past, since I want to avoid misrepresentation.

You cannot correct the past you can only tell the truth going forward.

Thanks Sous02, I was planning that, just to tell the truth.

Maybe it's better to ask how it would effect my PR application? Since it's not directly related to my PR application or do I get this wrong?

Seriously answer every question you need to honestly and completely. If the question is not asked as you go through the forms then you will not have to answer. If it is just be honest.

Based on what you wrote above, you did not misrepresent the facts. When you applied for your 2nd permit you disclosed you are separated therefore you should have no issues with your pr application and forms. Just be honest and state true date of separation from your former spouse so that it matches your 2nd work permit application.

Well there is the issue. There was no clear date of separation. We were temporary working in different locations. And the date I put down is after I met my current spouse.

Can I just say I put down the wrong date in a previous application? Would that be misrepresentation? (but then again, not of my PR application)

It's messy, I know.
