I got invited today, but I just found out that my primary occupation NOC is different than my work experience NOC. The primary occupation NOC that i chose was mechanical engineer, but my work experience NOC is Software Engineer (This is what I do). What should I do?Should I accept the invitation and attach letter of explanation explaining that I made a mistake?
Thanks

CORRECTION
Seems like I can change my information on the "Continue Application" page, also my work experience is half mechanical and half software. Am I better off leaving the ones that arent related?
Thanks

Since Software Engineering is also a NOC A skill, I think you should be fine with a letter of explanation, assuming you still meet the minimum requirements of FSW\CEC with your Software experience.

I'd let the experts weigh in on this, though.

I defer to the experts, though.

Thanks for the reply, that's what I thought too because it wouldn't change my score but I'm afraid that it might be considered "misinterpretation".
Looking forward to the other experts' opinions

Wait for Asivad to answer, but if work experience you entered in ee profile matches with job reference letter that you can provide then you are fine.

The first question which asks 'Primary NOC which you want ee profile to be based on' doesn't really have much impact I suppose.

That determines your FSW eligibility so it is pretty darn important in some cases.

OP: How much experience do you have in each of those 2 NOCs?

Hi asivad Anac,

I am a CEC inland applicant. I've been doing that same job for almost 3 years. On the permanent residence application, I am able to edit the primary NOC and my work experience. In your experience, do you think the VO only cares about what I put in that application or does he also care about what I put before ITA. Thanks

Not a problem. Proceed with that edit and application submission.

All the best!

Thanks Asivad Anac!

And make sure that you edit BOTH your Primary NOC and individual work experience NOC at the same instance without saving this edit. Else there is a possibility that your profile may be rendered ineligible and you'll lose this ITA.

Will do,do you think it'd be a good idea to attach LOE explaining about this change? Thanks again.

No LOE needed as this doesn't change your score.
