Till last year, WES would complete evaluations in 20-25 calendar days once they received the documents, now they take much longer, probably due to increase in number of people seeking Canadian PR and people applying with forged documents.

So, according to WES, it sends the documents back to the issuing institute for verification and waits until they reply and this can take anywhere between 1 week to 7 weeks. Once they receive the documents back from the institute, it is then they accept those documents and proceed with the evaluation. I have also heard stories of about people, who are already PRs in Canada getting arrested and deported for forged education documents, and they had received their PR, some years, 1 or 2, ago. That was probably when WES and other agencies were not verifying the documents.

Wow....but what if the institution takes forever to send it back.I wonder if they just keep following up. Oh come on, so there is not a faster way to verify..smh‍♀️
I have heard those stories too about people getting deported so it might be true. Guess the good suffers for the bad. Smh...life is crazy...the stuff we endure just to try and get a better life.

According to WES's FAQ, if they do not hear back from the institution in 7 weeks, they request information from the institution again via email and post.

I don't know about your institution, but, many institution's in India, especially the ones being run by the government, prefer to reply to WES via post then email, because of their archaic bureaucratic procedures. Moreover, they send their replies using India Post's Registered Post (cheaper and takes around 21 days to reach from India to Canada) instead of India Post's Speed Post, which is expensive the former and takes about 10 days to reach from India to Canada. Besides the delivery time, WES would take around 7 days to process the reply and then finally accepts the document.

This is how it goes in India, since, I don't know about your country or institution, I can't tell how much time your institute can take to verify.

The stories that I heard about people getting arrested and deported for forged documents, was told to me by a credible person, and he wouldn't have benefit in making up stories, so I believe him.

Oh bouy..... Well I know my insituiton will drag their feet. Especially if it was the Fall semester which is the busiest time. But since its summer it shouldn't be too bad. Definitely not 7 days thou. Probably take them 2 weeks to respond fingers crossed.

As for the stories it is sad that people think that those actions won't caught up to them. Everything always come to the light some day. Especially IRCC that double checks everything after years pass.

Your institute can reply via email too, if they email instead of regular mail, approval will be much faster.

These are just predictions. You can't really tell how long it will take or how short. Patience is the key.

Ok So I thought I would give an update to help others that might be in similar situation. I called IRCC and I was advised that the best thing to do is submit both. Providing I receive the correct ECA in time and explain what happened.
Also I finally heard from WES after watching and sweating lol Thk God. My assessment will be ready by July 9. Now to explain the timeline..I submitted my application May 17...they received all my documents in 7 days from my institution. I head bk from WES on June 18 to say that they have accepted my documents and it will be ready by July 9. So I would say that's a 2 month turn around. I'm just glad my docs will arrive in time b4 my 60 days to submit application. It's a very close close call. As soon as I get it. I have to submit my PR application. Like it's a really close call! Lol
