WP After 5 Years

Hi, I am in Canada on a closed WP ( LMIA Exempt) reaching the maximum cap of 5 years (Apr '18 - Apr '23) and my employer is mentioning there is no means to extend it beyond. Is there any other options left for to remain in Canada under work permit category, please guide me.

It sounds like you are probably on an ICT (intracompany transfer). To qualify for an ICT again, you would need to leave Canada and be outside of Canada for a full year before a new ICT application is submitted.

I don't believe this restrictions applies to LMIA supported closed work permits. So let's say you could find an employer who was willing to give you a job offer and also willing / able to obtain an approved LMIA, you could then switch to a closed work permit under that employer. At least I believe that would be possible. Probably worthwhile to check with an immigration lawyer.
