My partner and I are in the process of completing our application for the conjugal partner sponsorship. He’s in the Philippines, married and I am a Canadian citizen. He’s been refused a TRV recently and wont be be able to live with me here for 12 months. My question is, he has a pending job application to New Zealand. If we submit the application now and he moves to NZ later on, will this affect our eligibility? We still won’t be able to marry there until he becomes a permanent resident and divorce his previous wife there, while Canadian citizens have a visa waiver which allows visits to NZ but only for max of 3 months in 2 yrs. Anyone in the same boat here? Thank you!
