Hi all.

Is there any possibility that I can work while my application is being processed?

I'm an Australian currently working in Australia in the primary industry (agriculture)? My partner is currently working in Alberta, she is a Canadian Citizen.

She has been approved as a sponsor and my application was received by CIC about 6 months ago. medical is all done etc and all fees paid.
Just waiting on an outcome.

The application was lodged when we were both living in Australia but she has since moved to Edmonton for work.

Cheers,

Dave

No way to work in Canada via your PR app. Any work visa you get, will be done independent of your PR app. Basically the only 2 ways for you would be:
1. Find a Canadian employer willing to go through effort and cost of LMIA process to hire you under a closed work permit. Usually very tough unless you have a skill in very high demand
2. Get an open work permit through Australia's working holiday/IEC program.

Note that you must be 30 years of age or under to qualify for the IEC program.
