So I received a coop permit from my cosmetology school, and my advisor has told me that I can work for any employer as long as my working hours do not exceed my school hours.

But on my work permit, under conditions, it says my employer is my school and I am "not authorized to work for any employer other than stated"

Does this mean I cannot apply for part time jobs outside of school unrelated to my coop?

Is there a way to change this so that I may work outside of school?

Your school is mentioned as an employer because your co-op experience is counted as part of your studies. You can work for any employer offering a co-op job in your field of study.

Some colleges allow you to do the co-op during your regular semester while studying. I am not sure about the regulations regarding time in those cases.

Thanks for the response!
I am a bit confused; my occupation is listed as "OPEN" and nothing is said about my field of study.

When you say "any employer offering a co-op job in your field of study", what do you mean exactly?
Does that mean it has to be a job offered by a staff member/authority from my cosmetology school, as opposed to a retail store, for example?

Thanks for the clarification

Any job related to cosmetology. I don't know much about cosmetology, so I don't know what that covers.
