I am a PhD student in Canada but I go back to my home country periodically for certain periods of time. I always keep my full time student status. I want to do some freelance work online while I am in my home country but I wonder if there are any restrictions when it comes to how many hours I can work when I am not in Canada.
I have a study permit and an OWP with it. I can work 20 hours off campus. Does internet freelancing for non-Canadian employers even count as work? How many hours can I work when I am in Canada and how many when I am not?
Also, what to do with taxes and how to file this?
