Working outside of Canada while awaiting PGWP approval

Hi,

I will complete my program next month and plan to travel back to my home country for a month or so. I was wondering if I apply PGWP outside Canada before the expiry of my study permit, can I start to work remotely from my home country while waiting my PGWP being approved?

Some people told me that applicants can start to work after submittting PGWP applications shown on IRCC website (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/after-graduation/after-you-apply.html) only eligible for those who apply inside Canada.

The whole point of Canadian experience is to work IN Canada. The PGWP can be submitted from outside Canada.

I would suggest that you apply for your PGWP from inside Canada (shorter processing time) and then leave to your home country. But keep in mind that you may not be able to enter the country even with a valid study permit and Temporary Resident Visa (TRV - stamped on your passport). If you are unable to enter Canada before your study permit and visa expire, you will have to wait till your PGWP is approved and then renew your TRV based on your new work permit.
