  1. Please how will IRCC find out if a student works more than 20 hours?
  2. What are the consequences
1. They may or may not find out. There are a few different ways they can find out. One is that someone reports you. Another is potentially through the records connected to your SIN.
2. Could result in your study permit being revoked or your PGWP refused.

IRCC won’t know because they don’t have firsthand access to your SIN due to Privacy. But why would you wanna work above 20 hours? Please concentrate studies, and when you’re done you can work as much as you want. This limitation is for your own good as a student. Cheers and don’t break the law!

Actually, when you apply, you give them consent to search any available records, including access to your SIN and CRA records. There are no privacy concerns once you submit your signed forms as you have provided them with consent.

They only share information during citizenship application and even with that there should be reasonable grounds to do so. And the Minister is the only person who can request your SIN and share with other agencies. Your SIN is a sacred number and shouldn’t be all over place. That said I think it is the responsibility of international students to obey the laws!

Its not a good idea that during the study time working more than 20 hours. You might get a chance of your study permit to get revoked or chance to reject your pgwp application which helps for your permanent status in canada. You came here for studies here thats why government give you study permit.Complete successfully your course and think about fulltime work as usually all other genuine students do.
