Hi I am an American planning on attending carleton university in Ottawa this summer, approx 4 month. During that time am i permitted to work in Canada and if so what is the process in attaining the clearance to do so? What are the requirements for working during a shortened time period such as my stay in Canada (4months)? Any advice would greatly help me out, thanks in advance.

Hi
1. No you are not permitted to work.
2. You would need to find an employer. The employer would have to advertise the position for 2 weeks on the the national job bank. Then apply to HRSDC for a labour market opinion proving that there were no Canadians/PRs available for the position. The approval/refusal from HRSDC takes from 2-12 weeks, if approved, then you could apply for a work permit at the border.

i have approved aeo but i am in dubai applied for imm and waiting last abt two year if i went on visit visa to canada wether or not i can get WP on airportand can join job, bec to appl for WP from outside canada it takes too much time

People if u want to study and work same time in Canada don't think about it that way, Ist try to complete your studies there and then think working, coming back. They can professionally teach you so much good that you can work any where in the world afterwards.
