Working for a US employer in Canada (Study Permit)

Hi, I am an international student and will be studying post grad program full time in Canada. Can I work part time for a US based company ( they have no presence - clients, assets, employees in Canada) and everything is based in US?
If yes, can you please let me know of the rule/law that allows that? I tried finding but was unable to.

Yes you can, and if they have no connections to Canada at all, the 20 hour/week rule will not apply to you. There's been a few tweets from IRCC on this, and quite a number of discussions on this forum as well. You can search around.
