Working as a freelancer during your studies

As much as I know, you can work for 20 hours a week as an international student in Canada. But what about freelancing?

For example, can you start writing blog posts and similar stuff for websites as a freelancer and earn some money from that? How does it affect those 20-hours limitations?!
