International students will never pay the tax while they are students since the tuition/education/books credit they get will more then compensate for it.

what he means to say is when u file ur tax return u will most likely get all of it refunded. the reason being ur a student and there r some fee credits etc.....i got around $1200 back even though i worked only 1 sem.

From Revenue Canada :

"The tuition, education, and textbook amounts allows you to reduce any income tax you may owe.

Your educational institution will provide you with a slip that has the total eligible tuition fees paid as well as the months you were enrolled either part-time or full-time.

As a nonrefundable credit, if the tuition amount is greater than the tax owed, the credit eliminates the student's tax bill but won't generate a refund; unused credits can be carried forward or transferred in some cases "

Id suggest both of you read up on taxation before immediately assuming I'm wrong.
