Hi everyone,
Is it possible to change employer if I'm on employer sponsored work permit, if not what is the procedure to change my employer and also please let me know is there is any opportunity to get an open work permit to a person who has not pursued his education in Canada.
if you know any agencies which are helping in getting such permits please inform me.

Thanks in advance...

Regards,
Sanjeev

Yes - you can change employers. You'll need a new approved LMO and a new closed work permit before you can start working for the new employer.

You have no opportunity to obtain an open work permit based on the limited information you have provided.

You can get an open work permit if you apply for a PR and you have received an AOR from CIC. This is possible through the new bridging open work permit scheme. Based on the info u provided you can apply under the CEC for a PR.

No you can't, unless your current work permit is due to expire within 4 months;

Yes 4 months prior to the expiration of the existing work permit. There is no sufficient information to assume that it is not within 4 months. There is no sufficient information from sanjeev to assume it is within the 4 months either.

The info i gave is very generalized based on the limited info he gave.

And he does not say that he needs to apply immediately for an open work permit. It is an option which he can consider before his wp expires.

either way it's not going to work, since he wants to change employer, which requires a new LMO and new WP anyway

Yeah maybe not right now. But if his goal is an open wp it can work at a later stage. Once he applies for a LMO and a closed wp.. and 4 months before the closed wp expires.
Thats y i say there is no sufficient info from him as to when he wants it.

No - you are not eligible for an open work permit. You won't be able to apply for an open work permit until summer 2014 (4 months before your WP expires).

You'll need to apply for a new closed work permit once your new employer has an approved LMO.
