Worked for 1561 hours

Dear all.

I currently have a problem. I was working for 11 month in Canadian university as a Postdoc (researcher).

In my ROE In the field of 15A - I have 1561 insured working hours.
My visa expires on December 1. And actually I don't have 12 month of full work, I rather have 1561 hour from goverment organisation work experience.

Including vacation pay I got official payment amount equal for 11 month of employment.

Please advice me on how to proceed.

Can you extend your work permit? Unfortunately you don't qualify to apply without 12 months of work.

OP 25a (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25A-eng.pdf), section 6.3, "Full-time work". In particular:

Work experience must be acquired over a period of at least one year; work in excess of 30 hours per week over a shorter period cannot compensate for any shorter overall period of experience.

The problem isn't that it won't count. The problem is that you do not meet the 1 year requirement. The requirement is a MINIMUM of 12 months/52 weeks of full-time work, or the part-time equivalent. By definition, part-time work takes longer than 1 year to complete.

I should wait till end of 1 year, then I can apply as person with part time experience and 1561 hour of work.

No - you'll still have the same problem. You'll only have 11 months of employment.

You need an additional 1 month of full time work (or equivalent) to qualify to apply.

Can I stipulate my full time work as a part time work. I mean to write in application as a part time.
Its really hard to get a job nowdays even with PhD and postdoc degree....
LMO is main reason of this, I got few places where I could work but I need to have open work permit as company cannot get LMO.

There is no place in the application for you to write "full-time" or "part-time", or if these terms did appear in your reference letter they would have no practical effect. What's important is your hours per week.

Besides - what would be the point?

Apply for PR. If you get the AOR then apply for the BOWP and find new job. Once you get BOWP and Job then you can decide how you want to proceed.

Can you please tell me under what NOC code your work experience falls?

Try your luck.
Apply for PR. If you get the AOR then apply for the BOWP and find new job. Once you get BOWP and Job then you can decide how you want to proceed.

Yeah... come to think of that, you are right. They check your eligibility pretty hard now and won't issue AOR even if you claim 12 months but there is only 11..
