There are different types of work permits.. which category are you looking for?

Find a Canadian employer and get a job offer. The employer pays $1k for a LMIA and has to prove that no Canadian or PR can do the job. After months, employer may get approved LMIA. Then you apply for a closed work permit…takes months. It may be approved or refused. Few employers go through the process

Are you a US citizen…given your US to Canada photo? If so and in a highly skilled profession look at the USMCA exemptions.
