Work time affected due to Pandemic

Hi guys, I've been laid-off since March due to Pandemic but I still have my contract with company which also says that we have our contracts and position kept till the going-back date, to work normally from then on.

But I'm guessing if this lay-off time will count to Express Entry work history. I would have the contract and even a letter from company; on the other hand, I have no payslips.

I was close to complete 2 years of experience.

Thanks!

The lay off time will not count towards Express Entry work history since you aren't working. You will need to wait until you have returned to work and worked additional time to achieve the 2 years of work experience.

I got 1 year of Canada open work permit and need 1 year of experience for getting PR. I did work for 6 months. Now, I am on lay-off due to COVID-19 for nearly 3 months. I still have 6 months left for my work permit. Do I get 3 months extension in my work permit or laid-off period will counted in work experience?

No, unfortunately your work permit will not be extended and the laid off period will not be counted in your work experience.

As of now, IRCC hasn't announced any exceptions for people in your situation.

I have 1 year of work permit. I completed 27 weeks of work and need 25 weeks to complete full one year. Due to COVID-19, I got laid-off and lost my 14 weeks. I don't have enough time left to complete one year. what should I do now?
