Hi

I am moving from Melbourne to Canada in January 2022 for study permit. I already have Work Visa with full rights in Australia until April 2022.

My work requires work from home - no office travel and anywhere. My question is If I can move to Canada and work in Australian company full time as I am having full work rights?

What are the tax requirements?

Does the Australian WP allow you to work while living permanently in another country? Does the company have Canadian offices or clients/customers?

The company has its offices in Canada as well in Toronto and Quebec. I can work anywhere until my Australian visa expires as my work is Work from home.

WPs usually specify a location in the country even if you can work from home so I would doublecheck the conditions of the WP. Why would you not be working through the offices in Canada?

I haven't got any offer letter from office base which is in Canada - Once I move there - I will be applying to transfer - but at the moment, transferring without reaching there, due to pandemic its not possible.
So, if my workplace gives us permission to work - can I work full time as per Australian work rights?

No, you won't be able to do this.

Because the company has Canadian offices, you will be able to work up to 20 hours per week only per the conditions on your study permit. This is because the work you do will be considered as entering the Canadian workforce since this company has operations in Canada.

If you want to work full time, you need to come to Canada on a work permit (not a study permit).
