Hi everyone!

We just have a few questions about the process for obtaining a work permit for an outland applicant. We understand that with an outland application, you cannot apply for a new work permit during the process. Inland would be the way to go for that as you can apply after recieving AOR. So my questions are:

- Can we submit an open work permit with our outland application, to speed up the process?
- Once the open work permit is approved and recieved, is the applicant able to work in any legal industry / job?
- Does anyone have access to the correct open work permit forms for this situation?

If anyone has recieved PR through an Outland app, and is now working, please share details!

Here are a few details on us:

- Family class, spousal sponsorship
- Outland application, USA
- My wife, the applicant, is currently on a 6month visitor stay with me here in Canada

Thanks!

No, OWP can only be applied for with an inland application

Well we're asking... ONCE PR is recieved, what is the process, where are you allowed to work, etc.

Once PR is recieved you can work anywhere you want, you don't need a work permit

Oh okay! So once you have landed, you may apply for work as you please, just as a Canadian citizen would, no permit of any kind needed?

Thank you labhouise! Makes perfect sense now that we think of it :P Have a great day :)

+1 for your speedy response and helpfulness :D

Good luck with your application and with your future job hunting ! :) :) :)
