Hey guys, I have a question. My common-law partner is sponsoring me. I have post-grad work permit valid for 1 more year. Should I apply for open work permit with our application?

You can apply for the work permit later in the process. I would send in the application without the owp and then in roughly 6 months you can submit the OWP application essentially giving you three years on a work permit. It should be noted though the the owp is a pilot program and there is no guarantee that it will renew in December. So if your concerned you can send one in prior to that.
