hi good day, I see where this forum have been very helpful to others and would like to get some help on here for myself. my problem is I got married to my wife last Saturday and we are in the process of applying for my permit residence here, my question is can I apply for a open work permit simultaneously with my permanent resident application? because I was on a work visa but it is now expired. thanks in advance for any help I can get from you guys.

You can apply for an open work permit if you are applying using the inland (rather than outland) sponsorship process. Note that your open work permit won't be granted until you have first stage approval which is currently taking around six months to complete.

thanks for the advice but do you have any idea on how about doing it? because I did an online questionnaire and it is telling me that I am not qualified for a work permit
