Work Permit ~!~ Vancouver sponsorship

Hey guys quick question, I am going to be sponsored by my spouse to be I am currently in canada under refugee claim I do have a work permit currently that's about to expire. My question is to you When i apply for being sponsored do i automatically get open work permit or do i have to renew it under refugee?? Thanks guys ;D

unfortunately as i know u won't get any thing for being sponsored unless u got the PR,being in process doesn't change a thing ,so i guess you have to renew it under refugee,but for sure contacting CIC won't hurt

If you are being sponsored inland, you can apply for an Open Work Permit (OWP) along with the PR app. Provided you apply before your current work permit expires, you will be covered under Implied Status and allowed to continue working.

I don't know if there are any special considerations to your work permit because it was issued as a refugee applicant that might prevent this, so you should double check that by contacting CIC.
