work permit validity after renewing passport

hi all,
i had to renew my passport. my current work permit is valid though (until september 2015), but i got it when i had my old passport. do i have to renew my work permit because i have a new passport OR the work permit is valid until the expiry date on it regardless of the passport?

The work permit is still valid until Sept 2015.
