work permit super delay

Hey All,

I already have a valid temporary visa (visiting)

I applied on the 24th of December for temporary visa (work permit) through a lawyer,
last week I was informed that I received Biometrics validity Letter but didn't receive the request to submit my passport.

I request the status on CIC from my lawyer and it showing

- We are reviewing whether you meet eligibility requirements
- we are processing your background check

What can be reason behind the delay

I am pretty worried if it is a good or bad sign, please advice

I am applying from Germany

Well I applied on 23rd November for work permit. It mentions the average time is 8 weeks however now we're past 10 weeks with no update.

If you received the Biometrics letter then you have to go and submit you biometrics. It is not relevant to passport request anyhow.

Old post but I will reply for clarity so that future readers do not get confused by your response. Biometrics Validity Letter means OP has already supplied his or her biometrics which was accepted by CIC as valid. This is different from Biometrics Collection Letter, that asks you to supply your biometrics.
