Work permit question

My husband and I got our AOR today. When I was applying for our PR I was struggling under the weight of all the paperwork and decided to just get the paperwork in and do the OWP at a later time online. I did not check off on the forms that I was including a work permit application. I would just like some clarification now because I am seeing conflicting information on the forums.

Are we able to apply online for a work permit at this point?

Do we have to apply and mail it in with a letter to the same address we sent our paperwork to?

Is your husband in valid status?

If so you can apply, but it make take a few months.

If he is not in status, he cannot apply until he has Approval in Principle
