Work Permit is expiring but received my ITA. Can I stay on 'Applied' status?

Hello All,

I have a very edgy use case!
My PGWP is expiring on the 28th of Jan 2024 but I have already applied for the extension of PGWP as I didn't receive the full tenure because my passport was expiring. The application for the extension was submitted in Oct 2023 and I have not yet heard back from them.
My question is- since I have got the ITA, is it safer to apply for BOWP or I can stay and work from Canada based on the PGWP Extension 'applied' status?
Or is there something else I should do to update IRCC about my ITA?

Please note that the ITA was received after I submitted my extension application.

@legalfalcon Please help! :)

Me too.
Don t apply BOWP, just wait.
I already get my new PGWP around 120 days after I applied.
You need to apply EE asap and get your AOR.

Thank you so much for your response!
I have received my AOR.
i have still not heard back from IRCC. Should I apply for BOWP? My only concern is what if they reject my PGWP extension application? I will no longer be on implied status which will make me ineligible for BOWP post rejection.
