So my work permit has an old passport number which I had to renew because it got slightly damaged. I still have it. It's attached to my new passport. The thing I want to know is that I am applying for my travel visa and in the online application should I mention my new passport number or the old one?

You'll need to quote your new passport details obviously since you can't use your previous passport. When travelling simply show the WP, new PP with TRV to airline agents, immigration officials, etc.
