Hi, I've applied for a work permit extension with AIESEC, but the application has long exceeded the processing time.
I spoke with an agent that told me I will be surely rejected, because I'm allowed to work in Canada under IEC only for 6 months.
I found on CIC website the I should be able to stay for 18 months, so I'm really confused.

Can anybody help me?

You can't extend an IEC. So if you applied to extend your work permit, I agree it is probably going to be refused. If you want a work permit under AIESEC, then you have to apply for a brand new work permit (not an extension).

It's difficult to comment further since you've provided very little detail (e.g. where you're from).

I'm from Italy. I just got an answer from CIC. They asked me to provide a new receipt of the employer compliance fee, so my boss had to pay again.
But nothing else was specified in the message I got, so probably it's possible to get an extension?
I'm trying to check in the cic.gc.ca website, but it seems that today is not working.
