Work permit extension (care for children)

Hi all,
I am currently in canada and my work pemit will expire on november. Instead of giving me a 2 years working visa,the immigration cut it down to 1 year and six months due to the expiry of my passport. Im just wondering what to do to extend my work permit under caring for children. Will i be needing a new LMIA or just apply to extend using my old LMIA.
