hello,
I am a Personal Support Worker and I have 2 years experience in the field. I will be eligible to apply for my permanent residence based on the 2 years experience in February 2017 and my work permit expires in March 2017. So, I just want to know how can I extend my work permit. The consultant suggested me that I will receive my file number in 1 week , but I haven't heard anyone getting the work permit in 1 week. So, if anyone has any suggestion or information, please share.
Thanks for your time. :)

Once you receive ITA and submit your PR application you can apply for a BOWP with AOR that is automatically generated by the system after submitting your PR application.

But isn't this hinging on if and when she gets the ITA? It could be cutting it close. I would suggest applying for an extension of work permit with you currently employer to be on the safer side.

Right but assuming that her job is not LMIA exempt she would need to apply for a new LMIA too. Otherwise applying for a WP extension without LMIA even though you need it and just taking advantage of long processing time could cost her eventually.

Yes, that is what I meant. Go through the whole process of procuring a new work permit the proper way.

Dear all,

I would like to ask you the following.

Once you have submitted the e-APR via express entry, how long does it take to receive the R10 letter(completeness check)? after you receive that, then CIC will start processing your BOWP. how long does it take to receive the BOWP?

Regards.

It really depends how long it takes to pass the completeness check. However, you can submit your BOWP application right after you receive AOR. Then it usually takes between 30-40 days (check current processing times on cic website). Usually (and also in my case) that's enough time to pass R10.
