Work permit - Does my family need to travel with me?

Hello!
I am applying for my Canadian Work visa soon. My family wishes to join me at a later date as dependent. Do they need to apply for their visa separately just before their travel? Or, can I now apply for their visa too with my one with same approx entry dates as mine (because of certain dumb processes that I have to follow), but they travel later?
Basically, I wish to save them from paper work etc while I'm away. I don't think I shall be in a position to come back to home country for a while.

Yes, you can include your family as dependent in your application. They can come to Canada (or not come at all) at any point after your arrival in Canada as long as the visa is valid.
