Work Permit Delay

I had applied my work permit application on May 25th 2019 from Dubai after waiting for so long got an email from immigration on 2nd March 2020 that they need my renewed passport within 7 days,hence my old passport was valid only for 5 months can anyone let me know why thay have asked for updated passport.New passport is already sent on 11th March 2020 but unfortunately no mails from immigration so how it’s going to work please let me know just worried because of Corona virus.

They have asked for an updated passport because your passport must be valid for at least six months at the time you receive the visa.

Canada is closing its borders in about a day to pretty much everyone but Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Based on the information communicated by the government, we don't believe that work permit holders will be allowed to travel here. So even once your work permit is approved, it will likely be a while before you can come here.
