Work Permit application Refused due to It was sent to Wrong Office

Hello everyone,

I am a regular reader on this site and I want to share my case to all of you and all comments and suggestions
are pretty much appreciated.

I came here as tourist and found an employer. I already have LMO and applied for my work permit last July 4 2012.
I've been here since March of 2011 and fortunately extended my visitor visa until the end of this month.

My immigration consultant applied my work permit to Vegreville "change condition of my stay to application for initial work permit"
Since it is more than 65 days, i call CIC call center to follow up my application. And the agent told me that my application
was refused due to my application was sent to the wrong office. She told me that it should apply from my originating
country or other visa office outside canada.

Now i dont know if this condition is not applied to my case:

Eligibility to apply from inside Canada
You can only apply for a work permit from inside Canada if:
you have a temporary resident permit that is valid for six months or more or

My visitor visa will expire on the end of the month
Do i need to apply for another extension?

I have contacted another Immigration consultant
They will re apply my WP to ottawa? is it possible? insida canada again.

Also i have submitted my sponsorship application last august 2012.

Any help Please?

1. You probably don't have a Temporary Resident Permit, they are only issued to person inadmissible to Canada. You had a Temporary Resident Visa which is for admission to Canada.
2. You consultant obviously is not the brightest bulb in the box. You should have applied to an office outside Canada (US or Home country) or if you are eligible you can apply at a Border Port of Entry.
3. Your second consultant isn't much smarter, read #2.
4. If you wish to remain longer as a visitor, you apply to Vegreville, unless you get the work permit.

Thank you so much PMM, is there any way for the fastest process? my boss was really frustrated about this.
He really want me start working ASAP.

yes you should be very careful before applying to the visa, you should have perfect reason for getting visa and have your original documents with you.

You can send your WP app to a visa office/consulate outside Canada (the US being the closest, NYC or LA accepting WP apps). Extend your stay (CPC-Vegreville) before the expiration of your allowed visit. Send a copy of the receipt of payment for your extension of visit together with your application package for the WP; make sure your LMO is still valid.
