I came from the US by crossing the border(running from ICE), got a non-enforceable removal order and applied for H&C.
I also applied for an Open Work Permit, on the grounds of having a non-enforceable removal order and needing to work to pay for means.
It’s been 3 months since I’ve applied for the work permit and nothing yet. The status check says they’re still checking eligibility and background check. I do my biometrics over 2 months ago.
Any idea on how long these work permits take? I was told they’re different from the refugee ones an these take longer.
